What is MBA

The Master of Business Administration type of programme is the most appereciated and probably most fundamental method of manager training all over the world.

The classic two-year day studies of MBA were created in the US in early the 50’s. of the 20th century. They were grounded on teaching experience at Harvard University collected since 1908, where managers training classes incorporated techniques prompting participants to be active. Essentially, they were taught to use logical thinking in diagnosing, analyzing and making decisions. The colleges established close cooperation with the business environment, set standards for the curricula, recruitment of students and lecturers, and even the types of awarded diplomas.

In the 60’s and 70’s, when schools offered this form of educational service, the MBA studies became a hit in the USA and Europe by meeting the demand for qualified managers sought by companies. The popularity grew steadily: in 1965 there were 5000 graduates of business schools; thirty years later – about 100 000 a year. The MBA degree became a standard – a leading and readily produced certificate of being a professional.

It is so because completion of the MBA Programme is a guarantee to acquire general knowledge from the field of business and management supplementing prior education gained at specialist colleges (eg. technical, law or even medical ones)

The MBA Programme appeared in Poland in early the nineties. Today, it is found in many esteemed Polish universities and colleges.
